Flaming Grill Buffet Menu

I don't have high expectations when it comes to buffets. They all pretty much serve around the same kind of cuisine, so I'm not even going to talk about food (which was good). I gave this place four stars because it's so cheap! Less than 8 bucks per head for lunch. Dinner and weekend prices are different of course, but the buffet selection is accordingly better. Nothing crazily spectacular, but an inexpensive buffet is always good to me.

Ok, where do I start? If I was to rate the restaurant on living up to its advertisement, I would give it four stars.. It is a Chinese buffet place with an astounding variety of food including a Hibachi grill that will cook to order. There is a large selection of desserts that your kids will thoroughly enjoy. The restaurant is clean with a pleasant neon ambiance. It is located in Rivertowne Commons shopping center perpendicular to the old Rivertowne Movie Theaters complex. I visited the restaurant on a Sunday at 12:00 pm to attend a family event. The place was packed! Large family groups and the after church crowd flooded the place. There were African-American, Latino, and Asian families in the crowd and they seemed to enjoy the food. The staff was friendly and provided a reasonable level of service considering the size of the crowd. If you are a fan of quantity over quality, this is your place. The price is reasonable $11.00 and $7.00 for adults and kids respectively for dinner You can sample food from every genre of American style food. However, on the quality side , you get what you pay for in quality. I would rate the food quality at 2 stars. It is equivalent to your neighborhood Chinese carryout fare. If you are a young family and looking to feed the family in a bright pleasant environment, I would you encourage you to go and enjoy yourself. My final rating is 2 stars for food and one additional star for their variety, neon ambiance and cleanliness.

Food is great for me. As it was same with Hibachi waldorf. But the only thing embarrased me is the way the chinese shift manager treated us. He asked us to transfer to another table in the middle of our eating time. The way he talked, very unprofessional. If i will be asked, i decided not to comeback to that place unless they fire out that guy.

I loved the food. There was a wide variety of Asian and American favorite dishes. I am very picky when it comes to fried rice. They made it right though! Some Asian restaurants will try to pour soy sauce on white rice then call it fried rice but this restaraunt served the official version. I left a happy customer and will definitely return if a craving hits.

THE BEST BUFFET PLACE SINCE HORNET HORN!! ( real DC folks will remember what I'm talkn bout lol) I have been several times and I have never been disappointed when it came to having many choices to choose from &the prices are great no matter what time of day you go. Definitely take the family or your staff :-)

I stopped by here to get take out food for my parents. Always a good selection of food especially shrimp. They can weigh your food by the pound and they even have sushi and dessert if you want. Its more economical than buying separate Chinese dishes from a restaurant.

Food is ok but if you have allergies. Don't come here. They wait staff doesn't have a sense of sanitation! I ask for a refill the waiter brings me my refill with the same cup along with the same straw that I was drinking out of.

This is by far the best buffet I've ever been to. EVER. And my family was very big on buffets when I was a kid, so that's actually saying something. First off, the price is pretty reasonable per person. Second, talk about OPTIONS. They have everything from a fresh fruit bar (all with perfectly ripe and ready fruit), to a salad bar, to at least 5 kinds of chicken, ribs, shrimp, etc. The sushi and hibachi bar (with all kinds of veggies and proteins) are also included. The variety is simply astounding! There are too many great items to list them all, but my favorites included the dumplings, stir fry from the hibachi, garlic shrimp, and cookies. I only had a few things that didn't stack up, which included the salt and pepper shrimp (the flavor was all on the outside and the inside was goopy) and the ginger lobster (again, a very weird texture that was too mushy). They even have an option to get takeout (which apparently is charged by weight). I wish I lived closer so I could take advantage of that. All and all, I can't believe I LOVED a buffet this much! Seriously, try it out!

Three words: So. Much. Food. I come here to meet up with my family for dinner every few months. I always leave feeling stuffed, because there are so many options! The food is always fresh. My favorite part is the sushi buffet bar! I recommend, especially if you have a large dinner party full of picky eaters.

Nice space! I didn't feel like we was Too close to others as I have felt in other buffet places! The foot was good not everything in which is to be in expected in a "buffet place" we came in right before closing on New Year's Eve so food may even be better if we had came earlier! Me and family LOVED the facts of having our steak, shrimp etc cooked right before us! Plenty of selections! Tab ran a little over $50 for 4 people with drinks, waiter was attentive and kept our drinks full!!! I think they have a bar also! The decor was pretty! I definitely will be back!

By far one of the best bang for your buck buffets I have ever been too. It was inexpensive at about $11 a person for a dinner buffet which included wide varieties of sushi, hibachi grill, various Chinese entrees and a huge salad bar with fresh vegetables and fruit. Great!!!

So I checked this spot out for the first time yesterday. I was amazed when I walked in at the cleanliness and decorative ambiance this place has. The staff was very friendly and attentive. There was plenty of food choices that will appeal to everyone. They even offer a hibachi bar and sushi bar. Drinks are not included in the buffet price. I am use to it being included at other restaurants but overall it was great dining experience.

This is a Chinese food buffet, if you're expecting more than that you're in the wrong place. With that said I was pleasantly surprised by the flashy decor of the place. It hasn't been open long and this shows through in the bright blue lights, un-smudged mirrors, and striking pillars within the building. That's about all that is good about Flaming Grill. Each plate I had was like Russian roulette. It was a 50/50 chance that it would be good and/or distinguishable. I didn't rely heavily on the food labels above the food as I saw a few liberties being taken with their names (were they guessing too if it was an egg roll or french fries?). Not to mention 80% of the food was dripping in grease or sauce. My excitement faded when I got up close and personal with the "sushi" bar. While it did have sushi---it was old frighteningly old (the avocado was brown and the rice was hard), and I had no idea what was what, or what it suppose to be, as there weren't any labels at all. There was a fresh hibachi style meat that you could have cooked for you. And I would've partook in that experience had the "fresh" meats available not been still stacked with the frozen paper separating them. And right next to a see-through top deep freezer showing where the meat was being taken from. This is a rookie mistake. The only saving grace about the Grill buffet was the snow crab legs (labeled as "Blue Crabs") of which I had 3 platefuls of, seeing as how I hadn't eaten anything else on the buffet. All in all, I would say don't waste your time. Stay home, order in your favorite Chinese delivery and splurge a little on something you usually don't get. Because everything at the buffet you've had before and more than likely have had it better.

I came here for lunch for the first time today and I was so pleasantly surprised at the selection of food here and how fresh everything was. I would dare say that it is one of the best buffets in this area. It offers the widest variety of food for sure. There is probably nothing that you would be looking for that you can't find on this buffet and they even offer a hibachi grill and sushi bar in the price; drinks are not included. The space was clean and the atmosphere was pleasant. The wait staff was attentive but not overly like you find at most buffets. I came with a group, and ironically I had been looking for a spot like this to go with my family whenever we were in the mood for good Chinese. I will definitely return.

This place has steadily improved since it opened. I usually come here to take out and when the seafood craving kicks in (which is about once every couple of months). I haven't been disappointed in the offerings yet.

Very good Chinese buffet and hibachi. Glad the cashier's bad attitude didn't turn us away. Fix him and you'll get 5 stars next time!

Pretty decent buffet. LOTS off choices and you have the option to take out as well. I like the space and the food seems fresh. I've gone multiple times and will definitely say go if you want some solid Chinese food.

The family and I dropped in to this location while we were in the area looking for something to eat. It is located in a fairly busy strip mall area, so parking can be limited. Upon entering, we were greeted and our drink order was also taken at that time, prior to being seated. We assumed that this buffet was similar to the buffets we have in Canada so we went on to fill our plates so we could fill our bellies! I noticed that it was a fairly busy place and understandably so, since the food was pretty good and their was quite a bit of a variety. The customer service was pretty good; they were polite and attentive to picking up the plates and ensuring our drinks were always full. I would definitely go to this location again!

Another all you can eat hibachi spot?!? Minutes away from my home?!? E-N-G-A-G-E!!! Thank you Tom Cruise! Thank you Keanu Reeves! Thank you Will Smith! Thanks to all the saviors of humanity! I no longer have to drive to Lanham to get my all you can eat hibachi fix! This may be a gift and a curse. A gift to satisfying my hibachi craving but a curse to my physique. My girlfriend couldn't believe how much of this stuff I crammed into my belly. All the shrimp, chicken, beef, imitation crab meat (lol), noodles, rice, and fresh veggies I could! I cant speak on the hot bar but the food looked decent. They had a variety of food. Pizza, fried foods, different types of seafood, Asian, and little bit of "soul food." They also had a bunch of fruit but some of it was near shrimp and clams. Totally out of place. For desert, you can help yourself to cake and other sweets. They have ice cream and popsicles but they will cost you an additional 50 cents (weird). The establishment was very clean and the staff was attentive. 26$ for 2 people is a heck of a deal! Hopefully they can keep this up because the area needs a transformation... P.S. The restaurant is located right by the movie theater. Come in the entrance near the Checkers/Bank of America and you will run into it.

Our server lacked customer service. The buffet set up is standard, a lot better than I thought. There is a wide variety of food. I'm not impressed at all.

This place is great if you want to pig out. Lots of Filipinos congregate here on Saturdays and Sundays. Food is great and the service is just like your plain ole buffets. Eat and leave. I still enjoy going here to eat. The chicken wings are really good though!

When u walk in the restaurant it has potential. You get a receipt and u sit down. When u fill ur plate and go to eat the food is gross. I tried several different kinds of food and it was all disgusting. I went to use the restroom and it was not clean and water was everywhere. The customer service was OK. But the deserts were pretty good. Would not go here again.

We've eaten here several times are giving it five stars because this place is everything it claims to be, which is a low cost all you can eat buffet. The selections are vast and cover all the food groups. There is a strong emphasis on Asian foods however there is a decent showing for those just looking for a meat and potatoes type meal, and the kids will have plenty to choose from with many fried foods too. If you're looking for seafood, there is a huge selection of that too with shrimps, scallops, craw fish, mussels and fried fish. The salad bar is loaded with decent produce, the soups are hot and flavorful and the desert/sweets bar has enough choices to satisfy the sweet tooth of just about anyone, and they have a large assortment of ice cream products but they do not have a soft-serve machine. As with all buffet restaurants, you would be best served to get here earlier rather than later for the freshest product and faster turnover of food on the bars but even later it wasn't bad. If you can't find anything to your liking with the prepared foods on the bars, just go over to the hibachi grill, select your own meats and vegetables and have the chefs cook it up fresh to your order. The staff has so far always been friendly and attentive and quick to keep the place as clean as they can considering the crowds of people dining there. If you are expecting Filet Mignon and lobster tail with a delicate shallot sauce served by the finest multi-lingual staff, this is not the place for you! If you are expecting lots of food with decent taste for a low cost, do you self a favor and give this place a try.

Overly crowded. Charged us for drinks we didn't even order. Barely brought us refills. Tables too close and the food was mediocre. The restaurant itself was nice with the lights and everything. But I recommend not going here

This buffet is nice for what it is! Tucked away in the Rivertowne Shopping Center it is a perfect place to go for a cheap lunch! Great hibachi chefs and great options! Food is good, but nothing to write home about! But it will work!

This is a very nice bufet with a very large selection( my husband and my two kids found plenty of items they liked and so did I). It is clean and the waiters were polite and refilled drinks and cleared plates promptly. The food is fresh and they are constatantly bringing out fresh food and keeping the buffet area clean. My kids were delighted with the large selecion of fresh fruit and the desserts including ice cream(name brand). I was very happy with the several shrimp dishes( salt and pepper shrimp, and other chinese style shrimp dishes, stuffed shrimp, also deep fried fish nuggets- fresh no smell). My husband was happy with the steak from the Hibachi grill and the kids liked the chicken dishes. They only complained the Pizza tasted nasty. there was also crab and american dishes as well. We will retrun.

Be sure to come here as soon as they open because this place fills up quick! Not because of ambiance or quality of food or even service but it's inexpensive ($6.95/lunch) there is tons of variety. It's like the all you can eat chinese buffet meets Country Buffet. You want Chinese-American? They have it. You want typical American? They have it. You want Soul Food? They got that. You want Korean? They got it too. I've never had dinner here, yet, but lunch was plenty fine. I picked out a weird combination of items: panko battered fried zucchini, some type of baked breaded scallops served on shell, fried chicken wings (plain), stir fried broccoli, and kimchi. I sampled the Gen. Tso's and Orange Chicken, it looked appealing but stay away from it. The sauce is unappetizing. Oh also stay clear of the white rice, it was dry and cold and don't bother with the miso soup, it was watery and barely had any miso or tofu. But the dessert bar was pretty cool. Lots of types of cakes and pies, ice cream, gelatin, pudding, and fruit. As mentioned in other reviews, this place just opened up so everything is still shiny and new and clean. The people dining looked like they enjoyed their food. I saw families and couples dining here. This place is as good as it gets at least until it becomes run down like some of the other nearby eateries.

me and my friend ate here Sunday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised it was clean, there was a variety of food and fresh seasonal fruit and hot food was always fresh ; servers were nice, and kept up with the lunch time crowd. Sidenote: it was nice to see a diverse crowd; such a beautiful thing food unites us all!!!

I've been looking for a Chinese buffet since I moved from Florida. This place was pretty good and a huge variety of items. They had dungenous crab on the buffet for lunch. The restaurant was very clean and good service.

Large selection and the food was pretty good! I didn't give it 5 stars cause I'm not a big fan of the surrounding area. As my husband and I were walking up to the restaurant we saw throw up and what looked like a lot of dried blood on the concrete....

Went three months ago because I really wanted an Asian buffet but didn't feel like making the drive. This place is what it says it is. I didn't think it was anything special... Wasn't bad but it wasn't my favorite either. The orange chicken and prime rib was really good, the fried chicken and the fried shrimp not so much. Potatoes tasted like they were frozen. Oh and if you like or need lemons for your tea (like I do) pray to God you aren't allergic to seafood, because that's what they are next to and I watched NUMEROUS people take the tongs from the crab legs and grab lemons when there was someone already using the designated pair. I cringed! I remember the fried rice being a little bland as well. It's pretty close to home so I will try and review again.

It's a descent place for the price. I mainly like the grill. I can't find any great Chinese food and the grill is the next best thing. They have a wide variety. My shrimp were over cooked and I didn't like the desserts at all. The orange chicken taste like mustard but everything else I tried was ok. As far as the party room, they are too unorganized. We were in contact with them on and off for two months before our event. Two days before the event we called to finalize our reservation and to make sure that the room was still available and the price was still the same. The day before the event, we reluctantly left a deposit, they appeared to be confused or just don't know how to handle large groups or reservations. The day of our event, they did not have our tables together and people were sitting throughout the party room. So after going back and forth with them we just decided to stop stressing and just sit our party of almost 50 wherever they could sit.

After several more visits & making some recommendations to management, The Flaming Grill off St. Barnabus Rd, in Temple Hills is a good "go to" place if you like shrimp prepared in different ways(coconut, in black pepper w/peas & corn, stuffed w/crab, or as sushi) & I like shrimp! The various chicken dishes were also delightful. I've moved away from eating a lot of pork & beef so this place suits me just fine.

  • Kenya J.

Ok, so I am a greedy ass. LOL!! :-) I lost my mind at this place on Sunday afternoon! They cater to non meat eaters like myself. For my first plate, I had: fried shrimp, cheese wontons & french fries. Second plate: Lo mein, coconut shrimp, 2 spring rolls. Third & last plate: steamed broccoli & mushrooms with 2 scallops & crab meat on a shell. Washed it down with some Tropicana lemonade. I have found Chinese food heaven! On Sundays, its $10.99 for adults. Oh hells yeah, this will be my new "go-to" spot!

This is a decent Chinese Style Buffet. I like the fact that they have a lot of different options, and they do a good job of keeping the trays stocked. They also usually have some type of crab on the menu which I love. The Dessert bar is excellent, and the Hibachi style grill is definitely a nice plus. The place can get crowded since it's one of the only of its kind in the area. You also get the feeling that they are rushing you to make room for another paying party when you have been there for 45 minutes or more, but do your thing and ignore them, you paid your money. This is pretty much a hassle free, cheap place to eat so it will be on my regular rotation as long as they keep the place nice looking like it does now, and the quality of the food doesn't go down.

I have been here several times but I will not be returning. Each time I visited I had food prepared on the grill. It was delicious but Iater I had upset stomach. My sister, who is vegatarian had the same experience. On my latest visit I became so sick I thought I would have to go to the hospital. Luckily after a few hours of stomach pain and finally vomiting I was better. I am convinced it was a case of food poisoning

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
